Why I Started Selling Aerospace Templates on the Internet

I spent 10 years watching every program rebuild the same documents from scratch.

Test plans. Design review checklists. Test cards. Same sections, same structure, same mistakes.

Every time an engineer starts a new test plan, they copy the last program's version — written for a different aircraft — or open a blank document and guess what to include.

Both waste time. Both produce inconsistent results.

I kept thinking: why doesn't a standard starting point exist? Not a final document — a template with the right structure and guidance text that tells you what to write.

So I built it.

Not because I have all the answers. But after 10 years across Part 25 and eVTOL, I've seen what works and what gets missed. I put that into templates and made them available.

It's just me, building what I wish I'd had as a junior engineer.

What I Actually Built

The first release covers two areas: Design Review Essentials and Test & Validation Essentials.

Design Review Essentials includes the templates you need to run structured design reviews — checklists with entry/exit criteria, decision logs, action item trackers, and presentation frameworks.

Test & Validation Essentials covers the test lifecycle — test plans, test cards, test reports, TRR checklists, squawk logs, pre-brief guides, and a requirements verification matrix. Each template includes section guidance so an engineer doesn't have to guess what belongs where.

There are more categories in development. The goal is to eventually cover the full aerospace engineering lifecycle — from requirements through certification.

Why Templates, Not Consulting

I also do consulting. But consulting helps one program at a time. Templates scale. If one engineer at a startup downloads a test plan template and it saves them 15 hours of building from scratch — that's a win I don't need to be present for.

The templates aren't perfect. They're a starting point. Every program will customize them. But starting from a structured foundation is always faster than starting from zero.
